Looking for a Retirement Destination? How about Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit?

Retirement Destination

When you see the term “Golden Years”, various meanings enter your head. From the beginning of the end, and to the lucky ones, the years of freedom with gold! To the current generation of people about to retire or who have recently retired, the term “Golden Years” can also refer to the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. That is having the financial freedom and the time to get pleasure from doing their preferred pastimes or even help within their local neighbourhood.

Sometimes retirement can coincide with significant changes in life. As time goes by, some retirees tend to drift away from contact with their old work colleagues, and will spend their money in completely different ways. They will have more time to undertake new hobbies, sports or other activities. They may sell up the long term home and even move away to a new locality.

Finding the right retirement destination is something that everyone should consider as they enter their retirement years; even if you wish to stay within your own community, it is good practice to consider whether you will be happy spending the rest of your life there.

So what makes Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit an ideal retirement destination?

Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit on Banderas Bay, Mexico, make the ideal retirement destination as it is already home to many expats and has clean water, clean food, safe living conditions and a modern health system. At the present time, the number of Canadian and Americans living in the community is continually growing with the construction of tens of thousands of new condos and thousands of new houses having taken place. There are approximately 350,000 inhabitants now in this once quiet little Mexican fishing village and a guess is there are some 50,000 Americans and Canadians during any time through the “high season”. As none of these retirees will have any work to go to, they will all want to seek the same things and that is to benefit from their years of hard work and enjoy life to the full. Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit, with its perfect weather, allows good people with time and money on their hands to find things to do that are most pleasing.

A Retirement Destination where you can keep fit!

Within Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit, there are some seven excellent golf courses. Another three are in construction or in the planning stage. There are tennis courts too plentiful to count and deep sea fishing always readily available. There are numerous clubs and classes available for retirees for just about anything you ever wanted to learn. They range from card clubs, fitness clubs, acting clubs, car clubs and writing clubs to art classes, dancing classes, computer classes, and language classes. Virtually anything you want.

In Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit, there are many charitable activities being dealt with by various groups or organizations. Most of the expats are involved in one or more of these at some time. They include the International Friendship Club, Becas Foundation, and Toys for Tots, Feed the Children, Make a Wish Foundation, and many others. As there are numerous daytime activities to be had in PV, you can be as busy or as relaxed as you want to be.

During the “high season”, The Malecon, (the walkway along the beach), is more active at midnight than it is at noon. The nightlife is extraordinary, with numerous fine restaurants and countless parties every night.

Finding the right retirement destination is part and parcel of enjoying a great life!
