Puerto Vallarta Community Supports the Gardens
The Puerto Vallarta Botanical Gardens relies on the community support through donations and contributions that help maintain operations. The naturally beautiful sanctuary is situated about 30 minutes south of downtown Puerto Vallarta and makes for a perfect day trip from Villa La Estancia beachfront residences in Nuevo Vallarta. Each month, the Puerto Vallarta Botanical Gardens regularly host interesting workshops and events such as this month’s Vallarta Bird & Nature Festival. Member support and contributions from visitors and residents help the Vallarta Botanical Gardens to run various conservation projects and educational events that everyone loves. Are you interested in helping? If so, simply visit the Botanical Garden’s website at www.vbgardens.org where you can find out about membership opportunities, and a link to donate a financial gift. Help from caring individuals like you will allow this important nonprofit organization to continue operations so that everyone can enjoy the Botanical Gardens now and in the future.
Wildlife Workshops and Nature Tours
This year, attendees will be thrilled with a variety of nature workshops and tours during the Vallarta Bird & Nature Festival. Tours and workshops will be led by guides that speak English and Spanish in order to accommodate visitors of both languages. Entry into the Botanical Gardens only costs $200 pesos per day, but tours and workshops that are held outside of the Botanical Gardens cost between $600 to $1000 pesos each. Some of the top workshops to check out include a visit to the Macaw Sanctuary in Cabo Corrientes known as “Santuario de las Guacamayas”, a morning bird walk through the Botanical Gardens and a visit to the Estero El Salado. Bird lovers will be fascinated by a workshop centered around woodpeckers from Jalisco. A visit to Rancho Primavera in El Tuito is another popular tour to attend. Do you have a budding artist in your family? Make sure you sign them up for the free bird sketching course for children 8 years old to 12 years old. There is also an adult bird sketching course, but it costs $300 pesos per person.
